The township has become aware of misinformation being circulated among the residents and would like to issue a statement:
Tyrone Township does not support any action by the State of Michigan that removes zoning authority from local municipalities to include townships. We have been in contact with our State Representatives, State Senator and the Governor’s office letting them know we want to retain local control.
Some have called for a Resolution. Resolutions are only one method of letting our legislatures know our position. We believe that direct communication with our State Representatives, Senators, and Governor’s office is a better method of informing them of our position.
The State Legislature will potentially be voting on House Bills HB 5120-HB 5123 in the coming week.
Once again, we do not support these bills.
