This page shows some of the services available to township residents.

 

BURN PERMITS

Residents of Tyrone Township who wish to burn MUST obtain a burn permit from the township.  Permits cost $5.00, are good for one calendar year, and may be obtained from the township or

for the Open Burning Requirements and Permit.  Permits are valid when the township is in receipt of the $5.00 fee and application.

The burning of leaves and grass clippings is allowed ONLY during the following dates:

       April 1 - May 31
       September 15 - November 15

Not adhering to township rules may result in fire run service charge and/or fine.

CABLE TV COMPLAINTS

To report a complaint or inquire about a cable issue, please contact your cable company first. If you are unable to resolve an issue, please contact the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). The MPSC is responsible for handling video/cable customer complaints.

DOG LICENSES

All dogs must be licensed in Livingston County.

Licenses may be purchased at the Township Hall or Livingston County.  Proof of rabies vaccination and spaying/neutering (if applicable) must be shown every year as required by state statute.

Please make checks payable to TYRONE TOWNSHIP.  We do not accept credit cards. If you are renewing a dog license by mail, please include a SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE.

GARBAGE/WASTE COLLECTION

Most residents of the township must contract their own waste companies.  If you move into an area with a homeowner's association, please contact them to see if they contract garbage services.

Jayne Hills Subdivision is a special assessment district currently under contract with Republic Services (expires March 2014).  Please call 810-768-2218 if you have any questions.

DROP OFF RECYCLING - is available to all county residents at Recycle Livingston. Drop off hours are every Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m except for major holiday weekends, and every Wednesday 12:00 - 5:30 all winter, weather permitting. Users are charged a nominal fee. Contact 517-548-4439 or visit www.RecycleLivingston.org for information about materials accepted, location, hours and fees.

HALL MEETING ROOM RENTAL

The meeting room at the township hall is available to rent for homeowners/road association meetings.  Renters must be residents or property owners of Tyrone Township. The cost is $75.00, plus a $75.00 refundable security deposit.  Alcohol, smoking, and/or candles (flames) are strictly prohibited.

LIBRARIES

Tyrone Township has an agreement with the Genesee District Library (GDL) so that residents of the township may use the Fenton and Linden libraries at no cost. 

Residents of Tyrone Township do not pay taxes to the library, so we are grateful for the GDL board for extending this service to us.  This agreement is in effect until December 31, 2012.

ROAD COMPLAINTS

If you have a concern about a specific road, please call the township hall at (810) 629-8631.  The township will place the complaint to the Livingston County Road Commission. 

Please be aware that the Township and County do NOT pick up animal carcasses.  Please
